Odor? Other signs?: In and of itself, it may mean dried mucous or protein but in the presence of other symptoms such as itching or odor, may indicate a yeast infection. Gentle cleansing. May help to minimize this but if it persists, consider discussing with your gynecologist.

Douching: Douching is actually not recommended, as it can change the natural bacterial balance of the vagina and lead to infection. Physiologic discharge is considered normal, and depending on the time in the cycle, can vary from white, to clear, to thick and mucous like. Anything with odor, color other than white, or curdish warrants investigation.
