A member asked:

Immediately after the menstrual period, how long is it safe to have unprotected sex?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Never!: Although it may take a few days for ovulation to occur after a period, there really isn't a "safe" period of time for unprotected sex. If not pregnancy, then std's are always possible. Fraternal twins are an example of two separate eggs occurring in the same cycle at different times with subsequent fertilization.
