A member asked:

Would it be typical for cystic breasts to be painful?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Breast cysts can cause cyclical breast pain which fluctuates with your menstrual cycle. Anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen can help when the pain is bad. Evening primrose oil (available at most health stores) has shown some improvement in pain related to fibrocystic breasts. Have a breast exam done by a provider before you chalk up breast pain to "cystic breasts".
