Just like any flu: "bird flu" will usually present as an acute illness with fever, headache, cough, aching muscles, and occasionally severe breathing difficulty. Most people with the flu won't get severely ill, and those who are older, or immune suppressed are more likely to have severe illness. Influenza is a leading killer though, and your chances of getting it are reduced by getting a yearly flu vaccine.
