1 twice daily: Is lower recommended dose for adults. Thus 1 250mg tablet is a single dose. Higher Cipro (ciprofloxacin) dose is 500mg twice daily, comes as single 500 mg tablet or 2 x 250 mg tabs/dose. There is also a long acting 1000mg tablet which is given once daily. These are specific to be taken once daily & should not be replaced by taking a number lower dose pills to = 1000mg at one time.
