How long do antibiotics take to start healing orbital cellulitis?

Within 24 hrs.: With the appropriate antibiotics, you should see some improvement and pain relief within a day. However, it will take a week to two for most of the signs of swelling, redness, pain and such to go away. Orbital cellulitis is vision threatening and requires close follow up with your doctor. More often than not, patients are initially treated in the hospital with IV antibiotics.
