Summer hives: Hives occurring only in the summer may be triggered by exposure to sun or being hot and sweaty. They can be treated by avoiding or minimizing the triggers (sun or sweating) and taking antihistamines such as zyrtec or allegra (fexofenadine). Sometimes sunscreens can help with solar hives. Look for uva and uvb coverage. See an allergist for persistent hives.
