Viral infections: There are thousands of different viruses. For some we have medications (herpes simplex, herpes zoster, influenza to name a few) for many we have no treatment. Whether or not to treat depends upon the patients immune function and the severity or potential severity of the infection. Many will pass with 'tincture of time'. Some respond to antiviral agents. Fluid hydration & pain relievers for all.
