A member asked:

Is it unusual a 13 year old girl to skip periods?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: The first cycles in teens are often not associated with ovulation (egg release) which is creates part of the signal for a period to happen. Irregular periods are common in the first year until ovulation becomes regular. Some women will have irregular cycles for other reasons also.
