Herniated disc?: A lumbar spine herniated disc may be irritating the nerve root responsible for the sensation around the knee area, most commonly l3-l4 nerve root. If pain continues consult with your doctor to discuss treatment options.

Need more info: Back and knee pain can certainly exist in a patient. Both can be due to arthritis. I would start with my pcp.
