A member asked:

When performing a thoracic outlet decompression, can you tell where the compression is before doing the procedure? (scalene tri, rib, pec minor?)

Mostly: Nerve, artery, vein disturbed. The outlet is a tight space and these structures converge. Taking the first rib releases scalenus muscle, bone, fibrous bands. Extra ribs are identified by x-ray and may be removed as well.
