More Tests: A specialized CT scan of the chest can be used to look for recent blood clots in the pulmonary arteries. If you have old blood clots they may not show up on a CT and a V/Q scan may be needed to look for a disease called CTEPH. Finally, a CT scan cannot be used to rule out pulmonary hypertension.
