Irritation: It sounds like fairly typical vaginal irritation. You may find that ocps or estrogen cream would help with it as well as your PMS symptoms. You should see your doctor while you are having symptoms to have them examine you.

Probiotic: You may be having some changes of your vaginal flora, including increased yeast, due to fluctuations of your hormones. There is no need to treat with medications monthly if they are not severe. Try using probiotic tablets or eating yogurt with acidophillus to promote the healthy vaginal bacteria that will keep the bad organismal count lower. If no relief, see your ob/gyn for evaluation.
