He has a problem: There are ultra thin lubricated condoms, that are very sensitive if you are not going to use a condom they make sure he is not sleeping with anyone else and make him get std testing first to make sure he doesn;t have anything or tell him no sex, and make sure u are on the pill, depo- Provera (medroxyprogesterone) , ring or something else.

Yes: Although the initial cost and discomfort is higher, having an IUD inserted is the simplest & most care free method of BC. The pill or depot shots also work, but are a more involved form of BC with various pros/cons. None of these provide even modest protection from STD's like condoms, but you must use what works for you.
