Not usually: Intake of iron or pepto-bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) can make your stool turn black. The more serious cause is blood in stool, such as a bleeding ulcer. If suspected to be blood you should see your doctor right away and have an exam for hidden blood in stool. Usually antibiotics are not known to cause it to turn black.
