A member asked:

If ssri/snri makes me more inactive/sedated/emotionless does that mean i wasnt low on serotonin in the first place.? what is my next option.?

No.: This may be a side effect of the med, worsening depression or perhaps the diagnosis is incorrect. In any case this does not correlate with any levels of serotonin.

Serotonin: Perhaps you don't know that getting actual serotonin levels in the CNS is very difficult and isn't done. Don't abruptly stop these drugs. There can be serious withdrawal issues including psychosis. I consider them to be quite dangerous to maybe 5% of the population because of these effects. Talk to your doc, do a slow wean.
