I got a result of <1.0 miu on a quantitative hcg test at 5/6 dpo? was it too soon or am i just not pregnant? when dpo should quantitative be done?

Too soon: Blood tests can detect pregnancy as early as 7 days following ovulation. However, if negative they should be repeated if the menstrual period is missed.
