Lots of vaginal discharge and cramping. took hpt and it was negative could i be only a week or so pregnant and that's why it was negative?

No: Slight cramping may be normal early in pregnancy but discharge is not normal this early. You should be seen to ensure there is not a vaginal or cervical infection and you can have another hpt as well.
