Does barium raise blood pressure? my bp was 170/110 after i drank it prior to my.scan.

No: I don't believe there is a correlation between barium and blood pressure. There are, however, many factors that can raise your blood pressure- like the stress of the test itself or if you have underlying hypertension and didn't take your medications prior to the test.

No: Barium is an inert substance. It does not get absorbed by your body and cannot affect your blood pressure.
