Midcycle spotting: If you are midcycle, the spotting could be normal. Did it happen after having sex? I would monitor the symptoms over the next couple of cycles if you are not pregnant to see if this becomes more of a pattern. If it persists, i would talk to your doctor to see what could be happening.

Probably normal: Most likely this is normal. However, if you think you have been exposed to a std then getting tested would be wise.
