NBS: This is a clinical diagnosis which means the diagnosis is based on the clinical presentation. Often upper and lower endoscopy and imaging studies are performed and do no reveal anything or show a false positive obstruction. The key to diagnosis is recognizing that chronic or escalating doses of narcotics lead to continued or worsening symptoms rather than benefit. Under recognized condition.
