Yes and No: Codeine and hydrocodone are 2 distinct narcotics. Cough syrup with Codeine could cause you to test positive for narcotics on a urine test, however if looked for specifically, it would still be Codeine and not hydrocodone.

Hydrocodone: Could be, if you took a lot of syrup with codeine. Codeine is a natural opioid. The hydrocodone is a semisynthetic derived from codeine. It is 1.5 times less potent than the oxycodone but it is crossreactive. Hydrocodone is used by itself in some cough syrups.
