Temperature: If you check your basal body temperature, that is the temperature when you wake up and before you get out of bed, every day, you will notice that it elevates 0.5 degrees f before onset of menses. The problem is this occurs after ovulation, so only helps you if your menses is very regular and you can then predict your next cycle and know you will be fertile the 2-3 days before the elevation starts.

Cycle: If your menses is very regular, you can predict your next starting date, count back 14 days and that is the day you should ovulate. Kits are needed for everyone else!
