A member asked:

How does exercise help reduce high blood pressure and heart disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Decrease risk: Aerobic exercise will make your heart stronger. If your heart can pump blood with less effort then the force at the arteries will decrease and the arteries will relax, decreasing your bp. Control BP will decrease the risk of heart attack and stroke. Plus exercise will control your weight, help with high bad cholesterol and decrease stress in your life, all risk factors for heart disease.
