D&C: Its called a D&C (dilatation and curettage); its usually a personal preference and frequently patients can pass the tissue on their own. However if its been over 2 weeks and still no bleeding that's when you start thinking about it to prevent infection.

See below: Check with your OB doctor. If you continue to bleed after the miscarriage, or do not start a new cycle of your period, then it is possible that you have retained products of conception.
