A member asked:

From treatment with ixempra (ixabepilone) and xeloda. which treatment works best for the brain tumors?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

NEITHER: These two chemotherapy agents are typically used in breast cancer, but in other cancers as well. I assume you mean brain metastasis. Unfortunately chemotherapy does not cross the blood-brain barrier therefore not helpful. Answer is complicated, but options are surgical resection and/or radiation depending on number, location and performance status. Talk to your oncologist.
