Medical vs Surgical: Medical has to be done very early. Suction type is generally better at 8-12 weeks gestation. Extraction is after 12 weeks and more difficult. Actual delivery is at 18 weeks or greater. The only harm physically is if things go wrong, psychologically is another subject in itself and more complicated to answer.
