A member asked:

Do you have to be 21 to donate a kidney?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No.: Although different transplant centers may have their own policies and ethical guidelines, the age of consent in the us is 18. Get drafted, military service, vote, state by state. However, the very young are scrutinized very closely to be sure they understand what they are doing, and they are giving true informed consent without coercion from others.
