You usually can't: Tell if they have a sexually transmitted disease (std) which is also referred to as a sexually transmitted illness (sti) unless they have lesions that are visible to the naked eye. That is the reason that unprotected sex can be risky. A person may have an std & have an outward appearance of being completely healthy.
