Diabetes and alcohol: There are a few things to consider before drinking tequila as a diabetic. If you already have neuropathy or retinopathy, it is not recommended to drink as it worsens both conditions. If you drink, you need to ask your dr. If the diabetic medicines that you take get affected by alcohol. Drinking blocks your liver from producing glucose so it is best to drink with food and not before you exercise.
