Genetics, idiopathic: Torticollis, also known as cervical dystonia, can be the result of some medications, especially Dopamine blocking medicines such as may be used for bipolar or schizophrenia. This can happen even after being on the same dose of the same medication for a long time. Other times there are genetic conditions that can cause torticollis, and sometimes there is no clear cause ("idiopathic").
