A member asked:

What causes spasmodic torticollus besides drugs? i've had the same medication for2 and it's never happened before

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Genetics, idiopathic: Torticollis, also known as cervical dystonia, can be the result of some medications, especially Dopamine blocking medicines such as may be used for bipolar or schizophrenia. This can happen even after being on the same dose of the same medication for a long time. Other times there are genetic conditions that can cause torticollis, and sometimes there is no clear cause ("idiopathic").
