Hyperhidrosis: Yes, the definition of hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating when the temperature is not hot and a person is not exercising. Hyperhidrosis can be generalized (sweating over the entire body) or localized, like the underarms, palms and soles.

Likely: Sounds like excessive palmar sweating = palmar hyperhydrosis. Best care starts first in family physician's office. Surgery can be quite successful for appropriate candidates. While done often by experienced thoracic surgeons (vats), it is chest surgery (major surgery). There are risks and benefits. Appropriate candidates should be selected.
