Photosensitivity is one of the most harmful side effects of doxy. You'll have to stay out of the sun or discontinue the doxy. If you do discontinue it, wait at least a week before being exposed to sunlight.

Exposure to sunlight, even for short periods of time, significantly increases the risk for skin reactions such as sunburns when taking doxycycline. If an individual experiences a severe reaction from the sun, it is advisable to contact their doctor. It also will be good to speak to a doctor or pharmacist or review recommendations about the sunscreen SPF strength and how frequently to apply it.
