My daughters 17 years old and got mumps for the first time 1 and a half weeks ago it went away and now she's got it again but only on the one side and the other one was also on the other side is this normal??

Once a person gets mumps they are usually protected for life. However, in a case of mumps, often the swelling on one side can be delayed. So likely this is just one prolonged case of mumps.

Unless Mumps was confirmed by testing ( & I doubt it would be so soon), you could be dealing with another form of parotid gland infection.

Discuss how the diagnosis was confirmed. If sh was vaccinated, it is less likely to be Mu.ps. Was she exposed to Mumps ? The infection usually self resolves. Watch for signs of shortness of breath and dehydration. Keep her well hydrated and treat fever.A COVID-19 test is also recommended.
