Usually, brown and black vaginal discharge is old blood. Left-sided abdominal pain is often intestinal-are you constipated? That could cause the pain you describe. But, you should see your doctor if these symptoms continue so you can be evaluated to be certain of the diagnosis and to get treatment to resolve these issues. Good luck to you!
