I have a fever of 100.4 f, with chills and phlegm in my chest and coughing. i took 400 mg of ibuprofen an hour ago and the fever did not go down. why is that? what should i do?

Obviously you have some sort of respiratory infection and should be checked for covid, influenza, and pneumonia. Drugs like ibuprofen often do not lower fever caused by infection, but the fever itself isn't very important and there is no need to lower such a low fever. Get medical care and follow the advice you receive. Good luck.
