A member asked:

Is it ok if a bodybuilder has a persistent elevated baseline bp of 130/80s or 140/80s? is a higher baseline blood pressure necessary to support increased muscle mass or should the bp be lowered with meds?

I would discuss this with your doc who knows all the factors and consider medication. Having this baseline level at your age means you will likely progress into higher levels with age Hypertension is a stealth disease on its gradual effect on your body. I would not decide that bodybuilding gives you a pass on treatment. The blood vessel injury is the same if your buff or not.
