For some reason, conjunctivitis (pink-eye) has been especially common in the US recently. Probably a virus, but some cases are due to bacteria and should be treated with antibiotic eyedrops. HPV has nothing to do with it. (HPV does not raise the risk of any medical condition except those due to HPV itself, like warts and, rarely, cancer due to HPV.)
