No significance: Babies get all kinds of rashes when first born and have no significance. Make sure that his room or clothes are not to warm.

Newborn rashes: Newborns have a variety of skin issues.Most have a bump on a flat red bloch rash that peaks @ 4 days & fades in a week or so. (called erythema toxicum) many have dry skin that flakes a lot.Withdrawal from maternal hormones produces a pimply outbreak that starts after a week or so increases over weeks & fades after 4-5 mo.
