I've had a small hard , but painless lump between my breasts for years. but every now and then for a week or so it will smell so bad. then others, not. if i touch it, my finger smells, but i cannot see or feel any discharge that is making it smell?

You should see a dermatologist who can remove it. It is likely a type of cyst and it is likely benign but having it smell is reason enough to get it removed. So, see a dermatologist and have it evaluated and removed. Good luck to you!
