I tend to avoid absolute terms, such as "definitely yes" or "definitely no". I don't do this to alarm people, but because nature often doesn't work this way. That being said, during the 90's when I practiced in NYC, I was surprised to learn that the chance of getting HIV from an infected partner (from a single sexual contact), was below 1%. That fact, along with a negative test would satisfy me.
