A member asked:

How long is the incubation period for my male partner to get a yeast infection from me?

Yeast infections: The most common yeast is called candida albicans, and it is a weak germ that produces opportunistic infections. This means that certain conditions must apply before someone gets the germ. People with diabetes get it, as do people on antibiotics, or those who have immune disorders like aids. So just because you have a vaginal yeast, it does not mean your sexual partner will contract it from you.

Male candida: Candida (yeast) is much more likely in uncircumcised males. If circumcised, it is unlikely that he will deveolpe symptoms from candida exposure.

Might be never...: If he is circumcised...Or you wisely used condoms since had concern about an infection...But even if uncircumcised / unprotected, yeast does not transmit f-->m reliably, and risk can be reduced with good personal hygiene. If "gonna happen, " should notice within a week.

Direct contagion: But yeast infection of the penis is unusual. The trouble is that intercourse only irritates the vagina and it is important to get the infection cleared up asap.
