I had an ablasion 20 years ago, and from then have not had any periods. i woke up yesterday and today from a full blown period. i'm 53, and cant get into my doctor for some time. is this normal or do i need to try and get in somewhere else faster?

No this is not normal but do not know what you mean by an ablasion???

The uterine ablation was very successful for you for the 20 years. However, to go from no periods to suddenly having one is not normal. It is not a medical emergency unless you are bleeding profusely and that should be treated at an ER with specific medication. Seeing your physician in the next week or two would be fine if possible. If not, then seek other treatment, ideally with a Gynecologist.
