Coughing or drinking: If the hair is causing symptoms like coughing sometimes hard coughing can dislodge and remove it by swallowing or you can drink fluids and see it washes down the esophagus in any case you should not manually try to remove it. If causing major symptoms you must see and ENT specialist.

Foreign object: Suggest trying to flush it out, gargle with commercial mouthwash or salt water. Occasionally if you scratch the throat with an abrasive food--fish bone, cracker--it can feel like something is lodged back in your throat. If the sensation persists, visit your physician or dentist for further evaluation.
