A member asked:

Is it ok to take nyquil while taking antibiotics? i was always told that alcohol can kill antibiotics, and if i remember correctly, nyquil contains alcohol doesn't it?

It is okay to take Nyquil when you are on antibiotics and you will have faster symptom relief if you do. The antibiotic will only treat the infection but not inflammation that causes congestion or mucous production, drainage and cough. If you would like to avoid alcohol and still have similar relief-related meds, you may try Mucinex DM and Benadryl plus Sudafed(pseudoephedrine) & stop the Nyquil
