A member asked:

Is is true that touching the vagina with sperms does not cause pregnancy. they have to be inside the vaginal cavity.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Your use of words is confusing. The vagina is all inside. There are outside structures where sperm contact will not trigger pregnancy. Sperm have limited energy stores and only enough to travel inside the vaginal mucus at normal body temperature to reach the egg and conceive. Sperm placed outside lose their energy stores within minutes and die.
