A member asked:

Ive been on birth control for aprox 6 year and i will randomly some months start bleeding halfway through my 28 days cycle. i am 19 years turning 20 this year?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The most common cause of breakthrough bleeding while on low dose oral bcp's is lack of punctuality in taking the "active" pills. The active pill should be taken within the hour that the prior day's active pill was taken. If this continues, ask your GYN physician for guidance.
