That's way too far!: Basically, think of the hymen as the vaginal hole or the vaginal hole's border. It's the first thing you see if you use a mirror to look. Hymens come in all shapes and sizes. The shape and size is of no importance, as long is the opening is big enough to let things through, such as tampons, etc...
