Aortic regurgitation is often caused by a defect in the aortic valve.
As long as the regurgitation is small, you may not experience any symptoms. But excessive amounts over many years can cause strain on the left ventricle which can cause heart failure.
You should find a good cardiologist who can monitor your condition and offer further advice.
