Read warning labels and follow. If you smoke stop now. It takes a very special mask to prevent lung damage depending on exactly what was in it. Not likely to cause GI issues.

Oil based polyurethane gives off toxic fomes and gases. When using, must have a well ventilated room and avoid lung and skin exposure. Allergic reactions and lung damage can occur. Your after effects are normal. Wash all clothes used that day, take a hot shower, ventilate all areas and flush out lungs with clean outside air and drink lots of water. Next time a mask and protective clothing.
